In order to carry out the rich tradition of the REACH masses, iCare provides two adapted Mass opportunities per month for children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families. The adapted Mass features REACH music and Children's liturgy that were hallmarks of the REACH masses of the 1970’s and 80’s.
Father Bill Bruning, pastor of Queen of the Holy Rosary in Overland Park, KS, worked with the REACH program as a young priest in the 1990’s and had rave reviews from parents and participants in Topeka. Fr. Bill was asked about reinstating this role and he immediately expressed his interest and passion in doing the same. Father Bill and the parish council of Queen of the Holy Rosary have generously agreed to host the iCare Masses and socials on the 2nd and 4th Saturday evenings at 6:00 p.m.
iCare also offers sacramental preparation for participants of all ages as well as a beautiful adult formation program called "God Chats". We believe all children and adults deepen their relationship with God by attending our religious experience classes from 5:00-5:45pm, right before Mass. There is a 15 minute break before Mass at 6:00pm. An additional Sunday Gospel Reading and Reflection group for parents is running at the same time. Come enhance your faith and meet other like-minded adults who care for people with special needs. On the 4th Saturday we celebrate our iCare Community with a free dinner and social. We enjoy games with prizes! Check our schedule of events for an evening of compassion, joy and love for your entire family. We are extremely grateful for the donations from our faith community.
